Dear Thornley,

With reference to our telephone conversation

this morning, my Secretary of State would like

Colonel Stanley to know that he accepts the further

alterations to the telegram made in Colonel Stanley's

letter of February 22nd and has given instructions

for the telegram to be despatched as amended.

He would also like Colonel Stanley to be

assured that the emergency administration can rely

in case of necessity on any British help which may be

available.
